iPhone Haptic Feedback

VerifiedSafe

Adds haptic feedback to iPhone UIs using expo-haptics. Maps interactions like button taps, toggles, and success/error states to specific feedback styles (Light, Medium, Selection, Notifications). Designed for Liquid Glass, it pairs haptics with glass animations for unified visual-tactile feedback.

Automated summary

Adds haptic feedback (vibrations) to UI interactions in an Expo app for iPhone, using the expo-haptics library.

Strengths

  • Improves user experience by providing immediate tactile feedback
  • Easy integration with existing components (Pressable, custom buttons)
  • Context-aware: different feedback types for different actions
  • Works with Liquid Glass design for a unified visual and tactile experience

Limitations

  • Only works on iOS (though expo-haptics handles an Android fallback)
  • Requires the expo-haptics package to be installed beforehand
  • Can be overbearing if applied to too many elements (e.g., scrolling)
When to use it

Use this skill when you want to make touch interactions feel more responsive and natural, especially for critical actions or navigation elements.

When not to use it

Avoid using it for frequent or non-intentional events (scrolling, continuous animations) to prevent overwhelming the user with vibrations.

Security analysis

Safe
Quality score90/100

The skill performs standard installation of expo-haptics and modifies UI code to add haptic feedback. There are no destructive commands, no data exfiltration, and no obfuscated payloads. Bash usage is limited to a safe 'npx expo install' command.

allowed-tools: Read, Write, Edit, Glob, Grep, Bash argument-hint: [対象画面名 or 省略で全画面]

Liquid Glass

npx expo install expo-haptics

手順

  • Pressable, TouchableOpacity, TouchableHighlight
  • Switch, Slider

| 操作 | ハプティクスタイプ | 関数 | |------|-------------------|------| | 通常のボタンタップ | Light Impact | Haptics.impactAsync(Haptics.ImpactFeedbackStyle.Light) | | 重要なアクション(送信, 保存) | Medium Impact | Haptics.impactAsync(Haptics.ImpactFeedbackStyle.Medium) | | タブ切り替え / セグメント選択 | Selection | Haptics.selectionAsync() | | トグル(Switch)ON/OFF | Selection | Haptics.selectionAsync() | | 成功(ログイン成功, 投稿完了) | Success Notification | Haptics.notificationAsync(Haptics.NotificationFeedbackType.Success) | | エラー(認証失敗, バリデーション) | Error Notification | Haptics.notificationAsync(Haptics.NotificationFeedbackType.Error) | | 警告(削除確認, 破壊的操作) | Warning Notification | Haptics.notificationAsync(Haptics.NotificationFeedbackType.Warning) | | ロングプレス開始 | Heavy Impact | Haptics.impactAsync(Haptics.ImpactFeedbackStyle.Heavy) |

import * as Haptics from 'expo-haptics';

<Pressable
  onPress={() => {
    Haptics.impactAsync(Haptics.ImpactFeedbackStyle.Light);
    // 既存のonPress処理
    handlePress();
  }}
>

import * as Haptics from 'expo-haptics';

interface Props {
  onPress: () => void;
  hapticStyle?: Haptics.ImpactFeedbackStyle;
  // ... 既存のprops
}

export const HapticButton: React.FC<Props> = ({
  onPress,
  hapticStyle = Haptics.ImpactFeedbackStyle.Light,
  ...rest
}) => {
  const handlePress = () => {
    Haptics.impactAsync(hapticStyle);
    onPress();
  };
  // ...
};

const handleSubmit = async () => {
  try {
    await submitForm();
    Haptics.notificationAsync(Haptics.NotificationFeedbackType.Success);
  } catch (error) {
    Haptics.notificationAsync(Haptics.NotificationFeedbackType.Error);
  }
};

(Success/Error)
(Light)

  • import * as Haptics from 'expo-haptics' の形式でインポートする

This download contains SKILL.md only. Any scripts, references, templates and dependencies are not included. Get the required files from the source, preserving their directory structure, before continuing.

1. Download the file

Download SKILL.md

From the root of a test project, save the file as .skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md, or use the command below. This folder is for inspecting the skill before installation.

Command for macOS/Linux or WSL: requires a POSIX shell and curl. On Windows without WSL, use the download button and create the folder manually.

mkdir -p '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4' && curl --fail --show-error --location 'https://skills-guides.com/api/skills/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/download' --output '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md.part' && mv '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md.part' '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md'

2. Check prerequisites

Read SKILL.md before using it. If it references scripts or external services, inspect them and prepare the required access in your test environment.

Tools declared by the author (check availability in your agent): Read, Write, Edit, Glob, Grep, Bash

No recognized prerequisites section in this file. This does not mean it is self-contained: libraries, tools and access requirements may be mentioned elsewhere in the content or source repository.

The platforms on this page are catalog indications. The paths below follow tool documentation; they do not prove this skill has been run in those tools. No minimum tool version is confirmed for this listing.

3. Load the skill

After inspection, copy the complete folder into your project using one of the commands below, then open a new tool session. The command stops if a folder with the same name already exists: compare the files before replacing it.

test -f '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md' && test -s '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md' && mkdir -p '.claude/skills' && test ! -e '.claude/skills/haptics' && cp -R '.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4' '.claude/skills/haptics'

OpenSkills

OpenSkills must already be installed. The local install/read procedure is checked with OpenSkills 1.5.0, which requires Node.js ≥ 20.6.0. Catalog slugs are not resolved automatically.

Official OpenSkills installation
openskills install './.skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4'

openskills read 'iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4'

Reading should display the installed file content and its base directory. It does not run the skill or install its dependencies.

For an agent that reads AGENTS.md, then sync the index. This command changes AGENTS.md: review the diff before using it.

openskills sync

Manual method or another tool: attach SKILL.md to a conversation, or open it in an agent that can read files. Include any required supporting resources. No universal folder is recognized by every tool.

4. Try a first task

Use a short, synthetic input: an API endpoint, a small document or an interface brief. In a new conversation, attach the file or give the agent its path, then adapt this request:

Read .skill-downloads/iphone-haptic-feedback-mm78nni4/SKILL.md and apply its instructions to this example: [describe a test input]. Identify any missing files, dependencies or access. Produce the result requested by the skill without inventing data or running unreviewed scripts.

Expected result: output matching the skill instructions, or a precise list of missing prerequisites. A read confirmation alone does not validate a first use. If an external resource is unavailable, that path remains untested.
