Automated summary
This skill saves key knowledge from a conversation—decisions, research, fixes, notes—into the sayou workspace as structured, versioned Markdown files.
Strengths
- Routes content automatically into topical folders (decisions, research, notes, bugs, guides) based on what it is
- Enforces a standard YAML frontmatter (type, status, topic, date, tags) so notes stay consistent and filterable
- Splits multiple topics into separate files instead of cramming everything into one document
- Versioning through workspace_write preserves earlier versions rather than overwriting them
Limitations
- Assumes access to the sayou workspace and the workspace_write tool, which are not part of a stock Claude Code setup
- Describes no search, indexing, or retrieval of previously saved notes
- Deciding what is worth saving is left entirely to model judgment, with no required confirmation step
Use it when a conversation has produced a decision, a bug fix, or a research conclusion worth keeping long-term.
Avoid it for exploratory chats with no settled outcome, or when the workspace_write tool is not configured in the environment.
Security analysis
SafeThe skill only instructs the agent to summarize conversation knowledge and write structured Markdown files to a workspace using workspace_write. It contains no destructive, exfiltration, obfuscation, or safety-disabling behavior, and its file paths are benign.

How this analysis is madeExamples
/save — we just decided to move from a monolith to event-driven services using Kafka. /save — Quick Save to Workspace
Save key knowledge from the current conversation to the sayou workspace as a structured, versioned file.
Instructions
-
Analyze the conversation — identify the most important knowledge to save:
- Decisions made (and their reasoning)
- Research findings
- Bug fixes and root causes
- Architecture choices
- Meeting notes or action items
-
Choose a logical path based on content type:
decisions/— architectural decisions, technology choices, design rationaleresearch/— competitive analysis, market research, technical investigationnotes/— meeting notes, brainstorms, general notesbugs/— bug investigations, root causes, fixes appliedguides/— how-to guides, setup instructions, runbooks
-
Write with YAML frontmatter — always include structured metadata:
--- type: decision | research | note | bug-report | guide status: draft | reviewed | approved | archived topic: short-topic-name date: YYYY-MM-DD tags: [relevant, tags] --- -
Use
workspace_writeto save the file. Use a descriptive filename in kebab-case (e.g.,auth-token-refresh-fix.md). -
Confirm what was saved — show the path, key frontmatter fields, and mention it's versioned (they can update it later and the old version is preserved).
Example
If the conversation discussed choosing PostgreSQL over MySQL:
---
type: decision
status: approved
topic: database-selection
date: 2026-02-19
tags: [database, infrastructure]
---
# Database Selection: PostgreSQL
## Decision
PostgreSQL over MySQL for the new service.
## Reasoning
- Better JSON support (JSONB) for our flexible schema needs
- Superior full-text search (eliminates need for Elasticsearch)
- Row-level security for multi-tenant isolation
## Alternatives Considered
- MySQL: Familiar to team but weaker JSON/FTS support
- MongoDB: Overkill for our relational data patterns
Save to: decisions/database-selection.md
Tips
- If the user says "/save" without context, scan the conversation for the most significant knowledge and propose what to save
- If multiple things are worth saving, save them as separate files
- Always use
workspace_write(not regular Write tool) — this goes to the persistent workspace, not the local filesystem - If a file at the chosen path already exists,
workspace_writecreates a new version (nothing is overwritten)
From the file to a first result

View the source and supporting filesThis download contains SKILL.md only. Any scripts, references, templates and dependencies are not included. Get the required files from the source, preserving their directory structure, before continuing.
1. Download the file
Download SKILL.mdFrom the root of a test project, save the file as .skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5/SKILL.md, or use the command below. This folder is for inspecting the skill before installation.
Command for macOS/Linux or WSL: requires a POSIX shell and curl. On Windows without WSL, use the download button and create the folder manually.
mkdir -p '.skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5' && curl --fail --show-error --location 'https://skills-guides.com/api/skills/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5/download' --output '.skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5/SKILL.md.part' && mv '.skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5/SKILL.md.part' '.skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5/SKILL.md'2. Check prerequisites
Read SKILL.md before using it. If it references scripts or external services, inspect them and prepare the required access in your test environment.
No recognized prerequisites section in this file. This does not mean it is self-contained: libraries, tools and access requirements may be mentioned elsewhere in the content or source repository.
The platforms on this page are catalog indications. The paths below follow tool documentation; they do not prove this skill has been run in those tools. No minimum tool version is confirmed for this listing.
3. Load the skill
After inspection, copy the complete folder into your project using one of the commands below, then open a new tool session. The command stops if a folder with the same name already exists: compare the files before replacing it.

OpenSkills must already be installed. The local install/read procedure is checked with OpenSkills 1.5.0, which requires Node.js ≥ 20.6.0. Catalog slugs are not resolved automatically.
Official OpenSkills installationopenskills install './.skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5'openskills read 'quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5'Reading should display the installed file content and its base directory. It does not run the skill or install its dependencies.
For an agent that reads AGENTS.md, then sync the index. This command changes AGENTS.md: review the diff before using it.
openskills syncManual method or another tool: attach SKILL.md to a conversation, or open it in an agent that can read files. Include any required supporting resources. No universal folder is recognized by every tool.
4. Try a first task
Use a short, synthetic input: an API endpoint, a small document or an interface brief. In a new conversation, attach the file or give the agent its path, then adapt this request:
Read .skill-downloads/quick-save-to-workspace-ms47vpm5/SKILL.md and apply its instructions to this example: [describe a test input]. Identify any missing files, dependencies or access. Produce the result requested by the skill without inventing data or running unreviewed scripts.Expected result: output matching the skill instructions, or a precise list of missing prerequisites. A read confirmation alone does not validate a first use. If an external resource is unavailable, that path remains untested.
